I visited Dr. Rodriguez for a regular cleaning when booking. However, he informed me that I could only receive a deep cleaning and that a regular cleaning was not an option. When I declined the deep cleaning, they refused to provide any cleaning at all, so I left without the service I came for. But they did many X-rays. During the same exam, he pointed to a tooth and told me it had a crack requiring a crown. That night, a piece of filling dislodged from a nearby different tooth. I paid cash for a second opinion with my regular Michigan dentist insurance normally covering this at no cost, but not an extra one, who confirmed no crack in the tooth Dr. Rodriguez identified, but a neighboring tooth was now damaged and required a crown. This left me convinced Dr. Rodriguez gave a false diagnosis of a non-existent crack while the appointment somehow damaged a previously stable tooth, forcing an uncovered consultation. I also was told I had $700 left on my insurance and asked, Don't you want to use it? This felt like pressure based on billing rather than necessity.
